Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Wexford County Criminal History does not keep or log the search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to review and answer it. The message is not shared beyond our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive basic technical details as pages load. Those details can include:

- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referral source, when available

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Wexford County Criminal History does not build, sell, or maintain a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general access information for records held by the Wexford County Sheriff, the 84th District Court, the 28th Circuit Court, Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report, and this resource is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search boxes. Information submitted through a partner tool is controlled by that company's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Review those terms before sending a query because this policy does not govern the partner's processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Wexford County offices, Michigan courts, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this website, the destination's privacy policy applies. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may also use their own systems to measure activity across multiple websites. That processing is performed under their policies, not ours.

Michigan public-record access begins with the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231, while dissemination of state criminal-history data follows the MSP repository framework in MCL 28.242a and related law. Those government-record laws do not turn this private site into a records custodian. For information we do control, you may:
- Request a copy of personal data associated with you
- Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
- Request deletion when retention is not required
- Object to certain forms of processing where applicable
