Questions about an official Wexford County criminal record belong with the office that created or keeps it. Court files, jail bookings, police reports, and Michigan repository histories have separate custodians. The contacts below route each request to the government source most likely to hold the record.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private reference resource cannot obtain, correct, remove, or certify a criminal record, conduct an official background check, or accept a Michigan set-aside filing.

Need an Official Record?

Use the originating office whenever possible. These are the main Wexford County and Michigan routes:

  • Court case files: contact the 28th Circuit Court at 437 E. Division Street, Cadillac, MI 49601, 231-779-9490, or the clerk of the court that heard the case.
  • State criminal history: use Michigan State Police ICHAT for a public name search or the MSP fingerprint process for personal record review.
  • Sheriff reports and county bookings: contact the Wexford County Sheriff's Office, 1015 Lincoln Street, Cadillac, MI 49601, 231-779-9216, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Current jail custody: call the Wexford County Jail at 231-779-9217.
  • City police reports: ask Cadillac Police or Manton Police for records created by that department; Mesick incidents generally route to the county sheriff.
  • Set-aside records: start with the court of conviction and current Michigan State Court Administrative Office forms.

The sheriff page does not identify a separately branded records division or a fixed public report-copy fee. For sheriff-held material, use the Wexford County Sheriff's Office address and phone above. For older felony files or certified copies, contact the circuit clerk during published weekday hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a noon-to-1 p.m. closure.
