About Wexford County Criminal History

Wexford County criminal records are divided among local police, the sheriff and jail, the 84th District Court, the 28th Circuit Court, Michigan State Police, the Michigan Department of Corrections, and the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. This privately run resource organizes those official routes so readers can identify the office, portal, address, or phone line that fits a specific record question.

Why We Built This Site

Michigan makes many government records available, but access depends on knowing which office created the item. A Wexford County Jail booking is not the same as a Cadillac Police report, a MiCOURT docket, or an ICHAT history. The county clerk holds official circuit-court files, while the jail answers current custody questions. Michigan State Police manages ICHAT and the public sex offender registry. This site brings together the verified access routes, request steps, contacts, fees, and limits documented for those separate systems.

What You Will Find Here

  • Local record routes: how to search and read Wexford County criminal court cases
  • Official check options: the differences between ICHAT name searches and fingerprint personal record review through Michigan State Police
  • Agency contacts: the sheriff, jail, court clerk, police departments, and Michigan systems tied to Wexford County records
  • Record relief sources: Michigan set-aside and Clean Slate channels, including the court of conviction and current state forms

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference resource, not part of Wexford County, the State of Michigan, a court, or a law-enforcement agency. Its role has firm limits:

  • It cannot obtain an official criminal record or conduct an official background check for a visitor.
  • It cannot submit a set-aside petition, FOIA request, or correction request on someone else's behalf.
  • It does not issue certified court files, police reports, jail records, or MSP histories.
  • It cannot provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, judgment, or eligibility for relief.
  • It cannot promise that an agency's hours, prices, staff, or portal status have not changed.

An official copy must come from the Wexford County office, court, police agency, Michigan State Police, or other government custodian that maintains it.

Search Partners

Some search boxes are supplied by outside providers. Those businesses control their results, terms, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral payment that supports this resource. Wexford County Criminal History does not control the provider's data, fees, or service, and the partner tool does not replace verification with an official records office.
